We have a rumor that Caracal has either pulled out of the US market, or is out of business altogether.
On January 1, 2015 Laser Devices Inc., a Beretta Holding company, became Steiner eOptics, and will be launching 3 new tactical laser illumination and aiming devices under the Steiner brand at the 2015 SHOT Show.
Ruger‘s new Elite 452 MSR (AR) Trigger has a 2-stage 4.5 lb. trigger pull and 30% faster lock time than standard. $160. Apparently not included on their AR-556 rifles. Ruger states that this unit will fit any modern sporting rifle (AR-15) rifle that has 0.154″ trigger and hammer pins. Apparently there is also a 451 single stage trigger.
Ruger also has a new SR1911 Lightweight “Commander-Style” pistol with a polished Titanium feed ramp(!) and a thin grip, $899, a new blue anodized version of the 22/45 Lite, $515, and a new LCP Custom with a widened, red, skeletonized trigger and upgraded sights (adjustable Photo Luminescent front and rear), $419.
I’m not sure if I mentioned that the Ruger 22 Charger (10/22 pistol) now uses M4/AR-15 grips.
It looks like Glock is making long slide versions of the G34 (9mm) G35(.40S&W), G40 (10mm) and G41 (.45ACP); each optics-ready.
FNH USA has a compact version of its FNS 9/40.
Remington‘s new V3 autoloading shotgun appears to be an improved Versamax, with all new parts. I guess the Versamax wasn’t max after all.
Kahr has a new line of G2 Premium pistols.
A new company called Stealth Gunpowder promises to introduce a new line of smokeless powders, which they claim will: produce no muzzle flash, burn 22% cooler than other powders, result in 13.8% more accuracy, not cause blooming on night vision devices, decrease target re-acquisition time by 39%, result in 92% fewer jams, and cause fewer meth lab explosions by police entry teams. We’ll see.

Streamlight has their new TLR-1 HPL (high performance, high lumen) rail-mounted strobing light offering 775 lumens output, 48,000 candela peak beam intensity, and a beam distance of 438 meters, and is also is available in a remote switch model. Weatherby has just announced they’re getting back into the market with their new Orion line of reasonably priced boxlock O/U double guns in 12 gauge with a 26- or 28-inch barrel and 3″ chamber. About 7 lb. $1099
