New Sig Sauer releases

Primary Weapons Systems introduces its T3 Summit Rifle, a 10/22-based, .22 LR rifle with a manual straight-pull toggle action, carbon fiber tension barrel and sculpted, laminated stock. 5 lbs. $800.

Ruger‘s American Rimfire Rifle is now available with a wood stock in .22 LR.

Federal Premium has a new .380 ACP Micro HST load. The 99-grain bullet’s exclusive design is claimed to deliver best-in-caliber expansion, outperforming all other leading factory brands in .380 (which of course is all other leading brands’ claim as well). Federal says “It’s a completely new bullet design. We didn’t just take a .45 ACP, .40 S&W or 9mm HST bullet and make it smaller.”

Performance tests were based on bullet and crush cavity diameters versus competition; tested with a 2.75″ barrel fired into 10% ballistic gelatin at 10′.

With bare, calibrated 10% gel, you can expect 8.5 to 9.5 inches of penetration and expansion to over 1/2″ from the .380 HST. Heavy clothing does temper the expansion of the round and barriers can defeat any .380.

Remington says that this weapon is classified as a firearm. $1000.
