“Police should be ‘the only ones’ with guns”

Off-duty Earel, AR, Police Officer Thomas Crutcher was charged with aggravated assault in a shooting inside a Downtown Memphis, TN, Masonic lodge last week.

Chicago’s Independent Police Review Authority, an agency that investigates police involved shootings in that city, is reported to (surprise) have a pro-police bias. The agency allegedly has fired a veteran investigator because he refused management’s pressure to clear six officers in shootings he investigated and thought were unjustified.

Glen Grannan, the chief investigator for the Hancock County, MS, Sheriff’s Department, says to call police and wait. (Because when seconds count, the police are minutes away.)

Former Habersham County, GA Sheriff’s deputy Nikki Autry, 29, of Clarkesville, GA, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of providing false information to a magistrate judge in order to obtain no-knock warrants that led to a near fatal SWAT raid where an 18-month-old boy was injured by a flashbang grenade thrown into his playpen, leaving him with severe burns on his face and chest that required months of painful surgeries costing over $1 million.

Apparently no crimes were committed by the resident family of victims, there is no word on any charges for the deputy who threw the grenade, and the county refuses to pay the baby’s medical bills. It sounds to me like the SWAT team should be tried for capital attempted murder.
