A few words about gun-banning Democrat Hillary Clinton, who is now running again for president:

  1. Watergate
  2. Benghazi
  3. Whitewater
  4. Fast & Furious
  5. Travelgate
  6. FOIA violations & hidden emails

As far as I can tell, she’s never seen an anti-gun law that she didn’t like.

Meanwhile, potential GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson attempted to clarify his stance on the Second Amendment at the NRA convention last weekend, saying he is “extremely pro-Second Amendment and that I would never allow anyone to tamper with that right,” (BUT, he said in a March 2013 interview, “It depends on where you live. I think if you live in the midst of a lot of people, and I’m afraid that that semi-automatic weapon is going to fall into the hands of a crazy person, I would rather you not have it.”

(“We are often told that gun control is more appropriate for ‘urban’ areas than for rural ones, but one key difference between rural and urban areas is that the latter are more heavily populated by African Americans and other minorities. If – as is often the case in today’s discourse – ‘urban’ is a synonym for ‘black,’ then what does it mean to say that gun control is more appropriate in urban settings?” – Glenn Harlan Reynolds, in foreword to “The Second Amendment as Ordinary Constitutional Law”)

And another apparent GOP hopeful, FL Gov. Jeb Bush back in 1998 backed a Florida law instituting background checks for private sales of firearms, saying “A simple rule would simply say that anybody that buys a gun at a gun show should get an instant background check, and so you would take out the criminals.” Riiiiight. Oh, and Michael Bloomberg says Bush is the best GOP candidate.

Here’s presidential candidate and US Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on the gun control issue:

Every significant announced (or potential) GOP candidate for president attended last weekend’s NRA convention except two: generally anti-gun New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and pro-gun Kentucky Senator Rand Paul.

On April 12, Gabby Giffords’ protĂ©gĂ© and fellow gun banner Ron Barber announced that he is not going to challenge pro-gun Representative Martha McSally (R-AZ-2) for her US House seat in 2016. Arizona District 2 is Giffords’ former seat. Barber occupied it after Giffords was wounded in 2011, then won the seat outright in 2012, but lost to McSally in 2014.

Ruger has upped last year’s “Million Gun Challenge” with this year’s “Two Million Gun Challenge,” in which they propose to sell a record two million guns this year, and donate $2 per gun to the NRA-ILA.

Remember, donations to the NRA don’t help with political issues. Your dues go to NRA but you need to donate to NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action, which is the lobbying arm of the NRA. NRA-ILA is responsible for preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals in the legislative, political, and legal arenas, to purchase, possess and use firearms for constitutional purposes, and runs the Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF).
