March 20, 2015 product highlights

Grabagun.com has the Ruger LC9S-Pro 9mm for $335 and the Smith and Wesson M&P 15 Sport Rifle 5.56 NATO 16″ for $579. If you don’t have a pocket 9 or an AR, you’re running out of excuses.

Discrete Defense has an AR15 Truck Console Mount (between the seats gun rack) for only $35. Every redneck should have one. They also have other interesting holsters.

Heizer Defense has chambered its little pocket derringer in 7.62×39, just in case the .223 version isn’t dumb enough.

3D printed suppressor.

Volquartsen‘s new Exact Edge Extractor is precision EDM cut from A2 tool steel and is hardened to a Rc 58-60 to provide permanent reliable functioning. It replaces Remington part #16176 and fits 12 and 20 gauge Model 870 and 1100 shotguns. $24.

Buds Gun Shop has the Citadel (Chiappa) CIR9M1S, a replica M1 Carbine chambered in 9mm. It uses Beretta M92 magazines, is 35″ OAL, and weight claims vary from 4.2-5.8 lbs. $399. Chiappa also has its own branded version with either wood or synthetic stocks, called the M1-9.

There is now a biometric (fingerprint) weapon magazine that locks inside the firearm and can only be unlocked by an authorized user. While locked, or when accessed by an unauthorized user, the “lethal capabilities of the weapon are completely disabled.” Only the authorized user can cock the gun, shoot or eject the magazine. Yeah, nothing to go wrong there.

Gander Mountain (and I assume others) has camouflage fishing rods. So they can sell more of them.

Level IIIA Ballistic Face Shield. Coulda used this when I fell off the roof.

The Pointie Tactical Marker

Glock has finally released its much-anticipated G43 single-stack (6+1) 9mm. It is 6.26″ long (3.39″ barrel), 4.25″ tall, 1″ wide and weighs 1.12 lbs., making it basically a single stack (slimmer) G26. It is not as thin as the G42. One wonders why it took 30 years. $589.

(Note that Ayoob’s coat is a bit oversize. Gee, I wonder why?)

Browning will expand its X-Bolt rifle line with the Eclipse Target and Eclipse Varmint models, which feature a laminated gray satin finish thumbhole stock with Monte Carlo cheek piece. Other standard features found on all X-Bolt rifles include a detachable rotary magazine, adjustable Feather Trigger, 60° bolt lift, bolt unlock button and Inflex Technology recoil pad. The X-Bolt Eclipse Target will be offered in 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Win., and has a 28″ heavy bull barrel. The X-Bolt Eclipse Varmint will be offered in .204 Ruger, .223 Rem. and .22-250 Rem., and has a 26″ heavy bull barrel. $1,070 for either version.

RWS has introduced some new rifle loads to its catalog.

In its HIT line (lead-free bullet designed for deep penetration and resistance to fragmentation) it added:

  • .270 Win
  • 8Ă—57 IS (aka 8mm Mauser)
  • 8Ă—85 IRS
  • 8Ă—68 S

In the Evolution Green line (lead-free bullet that will fragment after a dynamic expansion) it added:

  • 6.5Ă—55
  • 6.5Ă—57
  • 6.5Ă—57 R
  • 6.5Ă—68

SCCY Industries is working on a new pistol in .380 ACP for release this summer. 10+1 capacity, and a bit smaller than its 9mm and the same price.

Apex Tactical Specialties has a polymer Armorer’s Block (bench block) for working on S&W M&P and Glock pistols. $30.
