- Mississippi AG opinion on enhanced CCW carry at athletic events on school grounds. This one was a slam dunk, since state law is crystal clear on the issue. But schools and other government entities seem to largely be illiterate.
- A Memphis man was charged with voluntary manslaughter after admitting to police that he shot a burglary suspect. In the back. While the suspect was fleeing across the yard.
- The US Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that the federal prohibition on gun possession by illegal aliens is constitutional.
- The US Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has affirmed the conviction of a man bringing a Second Amendment challenge in a “machine gun” murder case. (1) Of course machine guns are protected by the Second Amendment. (2) You can’t make something illegal and then apply a bogus “in common use” standard to see if it’s protected.

- UN. President Donald Trump has directed the US to withdraw from 66 international organizations, including both non-UN bodies and United Nations entities that the administration says are no longer aligned with US interests or sovereignty, including the gun-control-oriented United Nations Register of Conventional Arms.
- DOI. US Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum has issued Secretarial Order 3447 to open lands managed by the Interior Department for hunting and fishing unless otherwise restricted by law, public safety or “resource protection.” The Secretary’s open-by-default initiative includes opening all public lands managed by the Interior Department, including National Wildlife Refuges (NWRs), to hunters and anglers unless a specific reason is cited requiring that they must remain closed. Included in this initiative is the elimination of alternative ammunition requirements to be used on NWRs, which was forced by the Biden administration without sound scientific evidence to justify the burdensome rule. Instead, The US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) will only require alternative ammunition in areas where a detrimental impact to wildlife populations has been proven by field data. The USFWS will continue to support incentive programs that allow hunters to choose the ammunition that best meets their needs.

- The Gun Man Jackson Swagger: A Western
- This one is a western, but the plot is much thinner than Stephen Hunter’s previous novels.
