Litigation & Legislation
- The Second Amendment Foundation, Firearms Policy Coalition, Maryland Shall Issue, Maryland State Rifle & Pistol Association, and four individual plaintiffs filed a cert petition asking the Supreme Court to consider the case Novotny v. Moore, a challenge to Maryland’s wide-ranging “sensitive places” gun bans. As always, we note that “sensitive places” are not in the Constitution, and are apparently just a figment of late SCOTUS justice Antonin Scalia’s imagination.
- The Ohio Supreme Court said state law gives the court the discretionary authority to restore a criminal’s gun rights if he has led a law-abiding life and appears likely to continue to do so. The man in question has an old criminal history of misdemeanor and felony domestic violence, and can petition a state court to get his gun rights restored.

- LaPierre Loses Appeal Vs. NRA. Duh.
- Why did the NRA Board re-elect John Frazer as Secretary?
- NRA Foundation splitting from NRA. You may recall that a significant number of the corrupt “old guard” NRA directors moved to take over the NRA Foundation when they were ousted from the NRA Board. Perhaps they’re still trying to milk it.
Enemies
The Only Ones
- The feds (CIA) apparently hire high-ranking security officials without doing background checks. This guy claimed to be a Navy pilot and that he’d graduated with degrees from two universities. All false. Of course then he apparently stole $40 million of your dollars.
- Not to be outdone, the US military also lets the crooks in.
- Des Moines, IA, police seem to be jealous that armed citizens are staying alive.
- Attleboro, MA, police detective James Miller, 52, faces several criminal charges after he allegedly fired a gun into the bottom of a canoe that his friend and brother were aboard. Miller is charged with two counts of felony assault with a dangerous weapon, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, carrying a firearm while intoxicated, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace.
- Myrtle Beach, SC, Police Department officer Michael DeBiase was arrested on May 30 and charged with pointing and presenting a firearm (his issued service weapon) at a fellow officer for microwaving fish in the office.
- Not the Only Ones: People with concealed carry permits are still more law-abiding than police officers.
