Inauguration
Don’t. Just don’t.
Delta Air Lines is “temporarily” prohibiting flyers from checking firearms with their stored luggage on flights to Washington, D.C. area airports, ahead of President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration. That presumably includes residents of the area who may be attempting to come home, along with their legally-transported guns, on previously-purchased return tickets.
At least some National Guard troops on duty in Washington, D.C., have been authorized to carry M4 carbines for self-protection, officials said Wednesday. So I guess they’re admitting those are not “weapons of war.”
Uncle Ted: “Dear Vice President Biden“
Litigation
You know that last August, New York Attorney General Letitia James sued the National Rifle Association and called for the organization to be dissolved and for the removal of Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre. The NRA counter-sued, seeking a court declaration that it is complying with state not-for-profit law and correctly alleging that the New York Attorney General is targeting the organization for its political positions, violating its free speech rights.
Two days before Christmas, 16 Republican state attorneys general (including Lynn Fitch of Mississippi) filed a 17-page amicus brief in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York in support of the NRA, in which they call James’ lawsuit “a politically motivated assault on free speech and an effort to destroy both a fundamental constitutional right and a political opponent dedicated to defending that right.” The brief adds: “When government officials, like the New York AG in this case, target organizations for their members’ political viewpoints, they subvert the very freedoms they are sworn to protect.” It goes on to state: “Finally, it is telling that a companion lawsuit against the NRA and the NRA Foundation brought by the District of Columbia AG on the same day as New York’s action does not seek dissolution…Indeed, the District of Columbia AG’s failure to seek so draconian a remedy underscores what’s all too obvious: there’s no plausible case for dissolution and the New York AG’s dissolution case is really about silencing anyone who disagrees with her view of the Second Amendment.”
Legislation
Demo-communist MS State Senator David Blount (D-Hinds) has filed a bill to disenfranchise millions of MS voters by pledging Mississippi’s electoral votes to the national presidential election winners regardless of what Mississippians voted. Apparently he skipped his government class.
What they’re telling you about gun laws
And how much is BS. Long article.

President-elect Shotgun Joe Biden twitted last week to former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, pledging to work with Giffords on her extremist gun control agenda, and promised to “defeat the NRA.”
“So no, we’re not going to take people’s guns away, but there is (sic) things [guns] that we should not have in people’s hands.” – U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV)
Web site host GoDaddy shut down popular pro-gun site AR15.com, for nonexistent terms of service violations (being politically incorrect) and offered no explanation or appeal.

PBS’ Principal Counsel Michael Beller says the government should build “Enlightenment Camps” and remove children from Trump-supporting homes. Your tax dollars at work. I am not making this up. I do not yet have his address. Language warning.
U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) revealed that Congress is looking into creating an investigative commission to “rein in” the media in the wake of the US Capitol siege.
Last Wednesday, terrified senators and congressmen at the U.S. Capitol desperately pleaded for police, any kind of police, to immediately bring guns and come save them from their constituents, who weren’t using guns. Funny thing is, many of these same politicians have expressed a career-long hatred for police, guns, and our Second Amendment, while actively working to eliminate them. Now we hear that two U.S. Capitol Police officers were suspended and at least 10 more are under investigation for their behavior during last week’s assault on the Capitol.
Meanwhile, Washington State Gov. Jay Inslee has called out 750 National Guardsmen, with their guns, to protect the Governor’s Mansion. Perhaps we should let them burn.

The Only Ones
On-duty Memphis Police Officer Patric Ferguson, 29, was fired and charged with first-degree murder, first-degree murder in perpetration of aggravated kidnapping, especially aggravated kidnapping, abuse of a corpse and fabricating and tampering with evidence, after he allegedly kidnapped and shot a man after forcing him in the backseat of a squad car.
An Associated Press review of public records, social media posts and videos shows at least 21 current or former members of the U.S. military or law enforcement have been identified as being at or near* the Capitol riot, with more than a dozen others under investigation but not yet named. (*”at or near” doesn’t necessarily mean illegal activity.)
Why do we hear of so many police-involved events in which their body cameras were not turned on? Maybe because in training they don’t train to turn them on.

FN’s new FN 509 LS Edge is sort of a competition/race gun version of the excellent 509 series.
Federal Premium:
- New Swift A-Frame loads in .327 Federal Magnum (100 gr.) and 10mm (200 gr.).
- New .22 LR Punch defensive round uses a 29-grain lead core bullet that achieves velocities of 1,070 fps through 2-inch barrel handguns and 1,650 fps out of 24-inch rifle barrels. It’s nickel-plated for smooth extraction. Bullet configuration is made to optimize penetration when fired from short barrels.
Winchester ammo:
- The .22 LR Silvertip defense load features a plated 37 grain, segmenting bullet that breaks up into 4 pieces on impact. Optimized for short barrels.
- The Wildcat .22 LR line now offers a 40 grain Dynapoint load, in a 500-round carton.
- Silvertip Power to Defend rifle loads with a large diameter polymer tip are available in .223, .300 BLK, & .308.
- The USA Ready Defense load is the commercial version of their Ranger One (a copy of the Hornady Critical Defense/Duty concept) with a Hex-Vent™ Rigid Insert (polymer-filled hollowpoint). 9mm +P, .40 & .45.

- The 12 gauge AA Diamond Grade Elite Trap load incorporates 8% antimony shot, the highest antimony and probably hardest lead shot in the industry.
- The 3″ .410 bore Double X Diamond Grade shell also uses 8% antimony in its copper-plated #7.5 shot turkey load.
- Economical Super X XPert Steel loads are now available in 16 gauge. But don’t use it in those vintage guns.
- The Drylok Super Steel line now offers a 2.75″ 20 gauge load with plated #2 steel shot.
Update on Winchester’s new 6.8 Western cartridge that we mentioned back in November. Good luck finding that ammo.
