Litigation by the Only Ones
Some retired Washington, D.C. corrections officers are suing the Dept. of Corrections for refusing to issue the necessary approvals to qualify them to carry firearms nationwide under the 2004 federal Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act.
But the Act itself is a farce. All law-abiding citizens have the right to bear arms, regardless of what job we have or had.
Federal Ammo serving The Only Ones
ATK’s Federal ammo (Dan Compton) has publicly admitted that they restrict their premium defensive handgun ammo (HST restricted for 11 years in this case) to law enforcement (Federal Premium LE & Speer LE) until the market demand/saturation causes them to release it to the rest of us nobodies, at which time they’re already working on the next LEO-only load.
Gee thanks, Federal.
Another Only One
Rabid gun-banning and police-protected Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s teenage son was mugged outside their Chicago home this month. This, in spite of our report that “Police officers are assigned to the mayor’s home front and back 24 hours a day. There are also cameras at both ends of the block.”
Maybe they should ban muggings.
Emanuel has signs posted warning of gun-toting Secret Service guards at his house after his son was robbed. But mayors (and their sons) don’t receive SS protection. Emanuel gets CPD “protection.” But the rest of us don’t.
Also in the gun-banner’s Utopia of gun control laws (Chicago), three men were killed and at least 25 other people – including an 8-year-old boy – were wounded in shootings across the city over the weekend before Christmas.

The brutal killing earlier this year [2014] of a 30-year-old commercial truck driver has an industry group pushing for a nationwide federal firearms business carry permit. The proposal, named “Mike’s Law” after the murdered driver Mike Boeglin, is backed by the Small Business in Transportation Coalition. It would establish a federal program so truckers can carry firearms for personal and load protection nationwide regardless of state and local regulation.
But apparently not for the rest of us. Folks, there is nothing special about cops, politicians, or truck drivers. Either we are “people of the United States” or we are not. There is no Constitutional exception for “special people.” Whether you drive a black-and-white, a Mack, or a minivan, you have the same rights.
International Only Ones
Employees of Israel’s Shin Bet and Mossad security agencies will be exempt from a psychological examination prior to obtaining a weapons permit, according to the Knesset Internal Affairs and Environment Committee. The decision followed a request by the Public Security Ministry, which asked that all government workers be allowed to skip the examination. The Justice Ministry opposed the blanket exemptions. The committee decided to relax the restriction, but only for employees of the security agencies and owners of shooting ranges.
So if you’re an “only one” you can be armed AND insane or psychopathic.
