U.S. Marines handed over their guns before leaving Yemen. Frankly, SecDef Chuck Hagel should be tried for treason for this one. The new Secretary, Dr. Ash (Ashton) Carter (just confirmed 93-5 by the Republican-controlled Senate), won’t be any better. And further, the Marines probably should have taken the plane by force.
We reported a rumor some time ago that Rohrbaugh Firearms had been acquired by Remington/Freedom Group. We now have confirmation that the acquisition occurred in January, 2014. It’s apparently been kept very quiet, and I wonder if Remington did that just to eliminate competition for its problem-plagued R51 pistol.
