Tactics & Stuff

  • The Case Against FliteControl.
  • Permethrin reminder.
  • How many rounds? Meriden, Connecticut Police Officer Anthony Offiaeli responded to reports of domestic violence with a weapon at a home and found a 38-year-old man mercilessly beating another man (his 69-year-old father) with a baseball bat. The victim was already down on the ground, taking blow after blow to the head and body. Offiaeli drew his service weapon and shouted for the offender to put the bad down at least four times. Jenkins didn’t stop the beating, with at least eight more hits before Offiaeli closed the distance and fired an initial burst of about five rounds. Jenkins paused for a split second, then raised the bat again and continued the assault. More shots. Still swinging. Only after roughly eleven additional rounds—close to twenty total—did Jenkins finally drop the bat and fall. (I didn’t like the angle/direction of the officer’s shots, but suppose there was nothing better available. – JP) The officer’s gun was then empty. The entire incident from the officer exiting his car until the offender went down was about 20 seconds. Both men died. So, those 10-round magazines may not be nearly enough. I did not post the link to the source due to vulgarity at the site and in the article.
  • Bears. They’re telling us (in Mississippi) not to harm them. But did anyone tell the bears not to harm us?
