Veterans Day

A very sincere Thank You.

Litigation

U.S. District Judge John Sinatra, Jr. has again issued a preliminary injunction against New York’s ban on guns in churches. The order in the case Hardaway v. Nigrelli is effective immediately and comes two weeks after a temporary restraining order was issued in this case. Read the judge’s comments.

Another federal judge has blocked New York officials from enforcing several other provisions of the state’s new concealed carry law. U.S. District Judge Glenn T. Suddaby temporarily stopped state officials from requiring applicants for concealed carry licenses to show “good moral character.” He also halted a provision that applicants must provide names and contact information of their spouse or any other adults or children in the home. That case is Antonyuk v. Hochul.

Florida U.S. District Judge Allen Winsor of the Northern District of Florida has ruled that a federal ban on gun possession by state-legal medical marijuana users is “consistent with this Nation’s historical tradition of firearm regulation.”

ATF still running amuck.

UK lead ban?

The UK is considering a ban on all lead projectiles in all habitats due to environmental concerns. Exceptions for police and the military. Well, if you ban most guns, I guess you might as well ban most ammo.

Study

A new study report published in the Journal of Surgical Research, “Legal Firearm Sales at State Level and Rates of Violent Crime, Property Crime, and Homicides,” found no correlation between increased legal gun sales and increased violent crime rates. The study by a team of physicians and medical researchers found that “it is unclear if efforts to limit lawful firearm sales would have any effect on rates of crime, homicide, or injuries from violence committed with firearms.”

A general multiple linear regression model using log event rates was used to assess the effect of firearm sales on crime and homicide rates. Additional modeling was then performed on a state basis using an autoregressive correlation structure with generalized estimating equation estimates for standard errors to adjust for the interdependence of variables year to year within a particular state.

It turns out that the team had much difficulty with getting the scientific study published in a medical publication due to the health care industry’s extreme bias against guns. Dr. Lott did a study on just that.

Enemies

We have a report that American Express is denying 2nd Amendment companies accounts because of their “industry.”

Registration = confiscation. Every. Time.

Gun-hating heavy metal rocker Ozzy Osbourne is now reneging on his promise to leave the U.S., even though I offered to buy his one-way ticket.

Biden’s bias:

President Joe Biden, who recently issued a mass pardon for low-level marijuana offenders, says cannabis consumption should not be treated as a crime. But at the same time, his administration defends the federal ban on gun possession by marijuana users, arguing that Second Amendment rights are limited to “law-abiding citizens.”

Meanwhile, after most of this week’s election results were posted, President Biden said “I’m gonna ban assault weapons, or try like the devil.”

Shotgun Biden

WaPo Awards Biden “Bottomless Pinocchio” For Repeated Falsehoods. He’s literally a serial liar. But we already told you that.

The Only Ones

More from Uvalde

Did you know? American police steal more than burglars do.

A Texas police officer is in critical condition after reportedly being shot in the face by an unidentified officer during a “non live fire” active shooter (sic) training session at an elementary school last weekend. The training was conducted by Killeen-based Texas Police Trainers.

A deputy in anti-gun Florida sheriff’s department arrested a blind man after mistaking his folded white cane for a gun. False arrest.

Former Santa Clara County (CA) Sheriff Laurie Smith has been convicted of civil corruption for selling concealed carry permits, playing politics and profiting from her control of peoples’ right to armed personal defense. Smith just the other day resigned from office after it became apparent she was going down.

The October 2022 NSSF-adjusted National Instant Criminal Background Check System figure of 1,265,311 is a decrease of 11.3% compared to last October, but is still the fourth-highest October on record. This is the 38th consecutive month in which background checks for the purchase of a firearm at retail exceeded 1 million and it continues to put 2022 on pace as the third strongest year for background checks associated with the sale of a firearm.

The Cosmi break-open semi-auto shotgun. Very nice and very interesting but a bit pricey.

Smith & Wesson’s new Equalizer micro-compact 9mm pistol features an internal hammer, EZ rack slide and 10-to-15 (+1) round capacity. Available with or without a (ambidextrous) manual safety. $600.

The Savage Arms A22 Takedown semiautomatic .22 rimfire rifle weighs 6 lbs. and costs $479.

Quote

“The problem with gunfights is that almost no one has actually been in one. This causes many people to believe anything that someone says, who has. This is a dangerous proposition. They may be right on the money, or they may have just been lucky…” – Jake
