Bruen decision

We are hearing lots of noise about various Nazi jurisdictions in the U.S. working to tweak their gun laws in the wake of the SCOTUS Bruen decision such that these places intentionally continue to violate your Constitutional rights. In spite of all the hand-wringing, about all that’s being done to correct this is the filing of additional lawsuits, which cost money and take years to resolve, after which the enemy just digs in with new gun restrictions. The answer? To me it’s simple. The complicit officials must be punished, personally. Not wrist-slap or fine the city. Fine and jail the council members, mayor, police chief, state firearms permitting officials, etc. I guarantee if you put the governor of California in jail for his repeated illegal activity, he will stop with the gun bans, and it’s very likely that his successor and the other 49 governors will stop as well.

An interesting prohibited person case.

FWIW, regarding a prohibited person’s federal application for relief from firearms disabilities – especially regarding someone who arguably should not have been prohibited in the first place or who no longer meets the prohibition criteria – it seems to me that when it comes to Constitutionally-enumerated, core civil rights, Congress simply should not have the option to “prohibit the use of funds to act on such applications, disabling the program,” basically denying not only Second Amendment civil rights, but due process as well. That’s sort of like saying we’re not going to fund a court so you can have a fair trial.

Note the smiling coward:

A total of 376 officers, including nearly 150 U.S. Border Patrol agents and 91 state police officials converged on Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. But for more than 70 minutes on May 24, not one stopped the shooter.

Not Uvalde

A man opened fire with a rifle inside the Greenwood Park Mall in Greenwood, Indiana (about 15 miles south of Indianapolis) Sunday, reportedly firing 24 rounds inside of two minutes, killing three people and wounding two more before being shot dead by a 22-year-old mall patron who fired 10 rounds at the attacker, hitting him 8 times in about 15 seconds from about 40 yards. I suspect that “two minutes” is not accurate and the real time is somewhat less.

“The real hero of the day is the citizen that was lawfully carrying a firearm in that food court and was able to stop the shooter almost as soon as he began,” and “Many more people would have died last night if not for a responsible armed citizen,” said Greenwood Police Chief Jim Ison.

While apparently the hero was carrying legally, the mall venue is a “gun free zone,” and he (thankfully) broke the rule, which is what I commonly advise. In Indiana, such “no weapons” postings lack the force of law, but check the law in your jurisdiction. (In Mississippi, you can generally legally carry in posted “gun free zones” only if you have the Enhanced carry permit.) Even the mall itself issued a statement saying they were grateful for the “heroic actions of the Good Samaritan who stopped the suspect.”

“He said to them, ‘But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.” – Luke 22:36

No word yet on a Presidential Medal of Freedom for the hero. Don’t hold your breath.

The Left seems to be going nuts over the Good Samaritan’s rule-breaking, apparently preferring to give the massacrist all day to continue killing. The Demanding Mommies chief said stopping the massacre “is not a ringing endorsement of our implementation of the Second Amendment,” as if the Second Amendment needs implementation, while the Brady Bunch chief even called the hero a vigilante. So they are not only anti-gun, they want you to die. Literally they prefer that you die than for you to save yourself and others by using your gun.

But wait! What about all those Leftist claims that an armed citizen is more danger to himself and other innocents than he is to a killer? He’ll shoot up the whole crowd and make things worse, right? Nope. Didn’t happen. But see the Denver item in The Only Ones, below.

Three, versus several dozen victims. Just a reminder of active killer math.

Mississippi homeowner fatally shoots crime spree suspect after multiple assaults and break-ins in the area.

Not DGUs

A 71-year-old Houston, TX area man walking to a store was fatally mauled by a pack of seven dogs. An unarmed man is generally not a match for a sizeable dog, much less a pack of them.

A 39-year-old Alabama woman died in a Mississippi hospital from injuries suffered in a dog attack back in April. The dogs also fatally attacked an Alabama Department of Public Health worker that tried to follow up after that incident. I’m thinking if you’re knowingly going to check on killer dogs, you should go prepared.

Meanwhile in Holley, FL, a family’s Chihuahua was killed by a black bear cub in their front yard.

Gun-banning Uber is being sued by 550 female passengers who allege they were attacked by male Uber drivers. More to follow. I guess that’s why Uber doesn’t allow riders to be armed.

Poop Francis questions whether fighting the Nazis was justified. Basically everything he reportedly said in this short article is wrong.

The City of Miami, FL, is continuing to work on trying to send “buyback” guns and evidence room guns to Ukraine to help them fight Russia. So Miami is agreeing that these guns are effective in repelling a hostile government takeover.

We have a report of the U.S. Census Bureau requesting sales and shipping records from holster makers. They are requesting order numbers, product descriptions, and where the items were being shipped. We note that perhaps 90% of the questions the Census asks are not authorized by the census clause of the Constitution, but the Census Bureau claims a response is required by Title 49 USC, Sections 224 and 225, and that there’s a fine.

“Then it [the cosmetic “assault weapons” ban] wasn’t renewed, so [President Joe Biden] stood up, he saw how why in the world would anyone need a machine gun, AR15? Why?” – First Lady Jill Biden, last week

The FBI has been attempting to obtain information on Americans who have concealed carry permits. In Missouri, at least, such sharing is illegal. What do you do with a fibbie who’s trying to break the law? I have an answer.

Register nothing!

Gun Tax

For the record, I am OPPOSED to any “extra” taxes on anything relative to a civil right, no matter what the benefit of the dollars. General sales taxes on guns and bibles, just like on anything else sold at retail, fine. Additional taxes on guns not also charged to unrelated sales, nope.

The Only Ones

Denver police shot a man who pointed a gun at them last Sunday. But they also shot five bystanders.

During an Orange County, CA, SWAT raid this week, officers not only fatally shot a stabbing suspect but also shot their own K9 officer.

A blind pig

After years of incorrectly using the anti-gun terms “assault rifle” and “assault weapons” into news reports involving firearms, especially when used in crimes, journalists are now advised by the Associated Press to avoid the “highly politicized terms.”

The AP Stylebook NOW finally recognizes that “The preferred term for a rifle that fires one bullet each time the trigger is pulled, and automatically reloads for a subsequent shot, is a semi-automatic rifle. An automatic rifle continuously fires rounds if the trigger is depressed and until its ammunition is exhausted.”

Now if they would admit that most “active shooters” never shoot another person.

In a rare event last week, a 6-year-old boy died as a result of a rattlesnake bite near Colorado Springs. Nationally there are 7,000 to 8,000 people bitten by venomous snakes annually, resulting in about five deaths per year.
