Election, NRA, YOYO, Only Ones

Election

Well, Shotgun Joe chose serial liar Kamala Harris, the virulently anti-gun U.S. Sen. (D-CA) and former California Attorney General as his V.P. running mate. It is widely presumed that Biden, if elected, will not be capable of finishing his term due to his alleged and obvious decreased mental capacity, and therefore the Democratic V.P. pick is most important. Harris apparently claims to be black, thus meeting Biden’s criteria (he previously said he would ONLY chose a black woman), although her mother was from India, and her father was a Jamaican descendant of a slave owner.

NRA

The new location for the mandatory 2020 NRA Annual Meeting of Members is Tucson, Arizona, on October 24th. The Board of Directors meeting will also be on Saturday afternoon. The members meeting is mandatory due to the bylaws.

For more on the current NRA leadership debacle, you may want to listen to the first hour of last week’s Gun Talk Radio.

Litigation

A U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals panel has ruled in favor of plaintiffs challenging a California law which bans possession of “large capacity” magazines that hold more than ten rounds of ammunition; and held that the ban violated the Second Amendment.

I’m guessing this will be overturned en banc.

YOYO

A suspect who was indicted last year on charges that included rape, strangulation and abduction was jailed without bond in Alexandria, VA, but then was released on $25,000 bond over the objections of a prosecutor, apparently due to fears he would contract the Coronavirus in prison. He then fatally shot his accuser, who had testified against him. The judge who released him is former Circuit Court Judge Nolan Dawkins, address unknown.

In New York this is apparently an everyday occurrence.

Meanwhile, we have a report that California is going to release 17,600 prisoners because of coronavirus, to make jail space for its citizens who are arrested and sentenced to 6 months in jail for not wearing a mask.

In Juneau, AK, a black bear entered a home (with 10 kids inside) through an open door and got into a fight with one of the adult occupants, who didn’t fare so well.

An armed mob attacked a suspended Wisconsin police officer at his home and fired into the house, where the man’s girlfriend and her children were present.

In Portland, OR, Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt says he won’t prosecute arrested rioters who injured cops. I am not making this up.

More Felony Charges for More Officers from Deadly 2019 Houston No-Knock Raid

Santa Clara County, CA, District Attorney Jeff Rosen has announced grand jury criminal charges of conspiracy and bribery against Santa Clara Sheriff’s Capt. James Jensen, sheriff campaign committee leader Christopher Schumb, attorney Harpaul Nahal and businessman Michael Nichols, after a long investigation into an alleged pay-to-play “may issue” CCW permit scandal involving longtime Sheriff Laurie Smith’s 2018 reelection campaign. In a nutshell, significant donors to the sheriff’s campaign got permits (70%) and other qualified applicants did not (8%). The investigation is continuing.

Meanwhile in Los Angeles County, Sheriff’s deputies in Los Angeles County aimed a rifle and a handgun at three teenage victims after a witness called in to report that the teens were being threatened by a man with a knife. Allegedly this was only because the teens are black. I believe the laws in most jurisdictions would acquit anyone of using deadly force against cops or anyone else threatening victims with a gun.

Harris County, TX, state District Judge Alexandra Smoots-Thomas was charged Wednesday with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after firing a gun at her husband’s girlfriend. Maybe she should have just un-hyphenated.

FBI Miami Shootout

And for the younger generation who perhaps don’t remember the FBI Miami shootout.

This led to a whole new generation of defensive ammo (bullets), which are what we have today. Language warning.

Yeah, but good luck with the jury.

Horyzen Tactical‘s Universal 9/40 Pistol Magazine Carrier. Expensive.

Hogue’s new Wrapter Adhesive Firearm Grip line is a thin rubber grip overlay for polymer frame pistols. The adhesive is designed to create a long-lasting bond when activated by heat, but can also be removed without leaving a sticky residue behind. Now if they will offer it for more than just Glocks and Sigs.
