Patriots Day, Litigation, Virginia

Patriots Day

Sunday is Patriots Day. Celebrate appropriately and ballistically.

Virus

Guidelines for FFLs during the pandemic.

Don’t count on the police being there, especially now.

Have you noticed? Since the Coronavirus pandemic, pretty much all the home schools have guns in them. Yet, ZERO school shootings. Therefore, it must not be the guns. CBS reports that March 2020 was apparently the first March in nearly two decades without a school shooting in the U.S.

John Farnam’s thoughts on social fallout from the pandemic.

Banking scam. Read and learn.

Litigation

The US Supreme Court will hold May arguments by teleconference.

Sig Sauer sued over allegedly defective P320 pistol. Not the first time.

The Second Amendment Foundation, National Rifle Association and Firearms Policy Coalition, joined by the New Mexico Shooting Sports Association, two businesses and three private citizens, have filed a federal lawsuit against New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, challenging her order mandating the closure of lawful retail firearms businesses during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

A Georgia gun owner has sued Gov. Brian Kemp and Fulton County Probate Judge Pinkie Toomer because the pandemic has led many state courts to suspend the issuance of carry licenses.

US Judiciary

The US Senate’s streak of judicial confirmations is on hiatus as senators confront the Coronavirus outbreak, leaving more than three dozen nominees in limbo.

Action item

The Department of the Army, through the United States Army Corps of Engineers (“Corps”), is soliciting comments on its proposed revision of its regulation that governs the possession and transportation of firearms and other weapons at Corps water resources development projects (“projects”).

This proposed revision would align the Corps regulation with the regulations of the other Federal land management agencies by removing the need for an individual to obtain written permission before possessing a weapon on Corps projects. Written comments must be submitted on or before June 12, 2020. Click the link to see how to submit comments.

My comment:

“The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is clear, and current Corps regulations are unquestionably in violation. No government regulations should or may undermine the U.S. Constitution, and regulations may not require prior government permission in order to peacefully exercise a civil right. I am therefore in favor of the proposed change.”

Virginia’s disaster

The Only Ones

Birmingham, Alabama, Police Detective Alfreda Fluker was charged with murder last Saturday after she allegedly shot and killed a woman sitting in an unmarked police car with an off-duty detective in what investigators said was “a love triangle gone wrong.”

DGU

The Chicken Little gun-ban groups will list a fatally-shot 15-year-old male as a “child victim of ‘gun violence,'” but prosecutors say the young man was an armed robber who was justifiably shot in self defense. Remember that when the leftist start spouting off their numbers.

Industry news

The NSSF reports that the economic impact of the US gun industry was $60 billion, and the number of full time job equivalents was 332,000, as of 2019.

Products

Oregon Trail now offers free shipping for website orders totaling $120 or more of its fine hard cast bullets. Interestingly, they offer a 1-pound pack of your choice of non-gas-checked bullets for just $5. I also hear they’re shipped in wooden boxes.

ArmorLube is not a spray-on coating, but an advanced “diamond like carbon coating” surface treatment that delivers incredible hardness with the properties of a dry lubrication. Using patented Hollow Cathode technology, ArmorLube is applied using a plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition process (PECVD), resulting in a claimed permanent, dry lubricating coating that delivers superior weapon performance and reliability in the toughest environments while eliminating the need for liquid based lubricants.

Anarchy Outdoors has introduced their new Threaded Adjustable Bolt Handle for the Tikka T1X and the Bergara B14 Rimfire. The handle lets the shooter adjust how much the bolt handle is swept rearward. Anarchy Outdoors is developing this new bolt handle for other models of rifles as well.
