On September 21 Americans for Responsible Solutions — the gun control group founded by Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly — tweeted numbers from the Center for American Progress Action Fund (CAP) claiming armed citizens in America have killed more people since 1989 than all wars since 1776 combined.

That of course is a lie.

Two anti-gun groups, the Newtown Action Alliance and the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, have started a petition to deny a federal grant for Project Childsafe, a NSSF gun safety program which is “committed to promoting firearms safety among firearms owners through the distribution of safety education messages and free firearm safety kits.”

They claim to be in favor of gun safety and responsible gun use and ownership. That is also a lie.
