We have a report that the investigators who were able to smuggle mock explosives and guns through TSA nearly 96% of the time were auditors who did not have specialized training in this type of work, rather than the previously reported specialized “Red Teams,” which know all the ins and outs of TSA security. This of course makes the abysmal failures even worse.

Further, the DHS inspector general has launched an investigation to find who leaked the information on their failure. No word from the IG on an investigation into the failure itself.

The IG also recently revealed that 73 unidentified aviation industry workers whose links to terrorism should have raised suspicion, apparently didn’t.
