McKinney, TX (Dallas-area) Police Corporal David Eric Casebolt, 41, who is white, was placed on administrative leave and then resigned after throwing a bathing-suit clad 14-year-old black girl to the ground and drawing a gun on another at a pool party disturbance.
The department reportedly did not pressure him to resign. No word on criminal charges. Casebolt is a former Texas state trooper and 10-year veteran of the McKinney PD. The other 11 officers on scene apparently acted properly.
An unidentified Harris County, TX deputy sheriff was taken to the hospital after accidentally shooting himself in the hand at his home.
