Officers arrested a Brandon, MS man this week in connection to an assault, handcuffing and kidnapping he allegedly committed while wearing body armor, a gun and a police patch. Deputies recovered “illegal” weapons, stolen items, several law enforcement badges, a police jacket, ball caps with “FBI,” “sheriff” and “police” printed on the front, a blue light and burglary tools.

Gary Raymond Mapp is charged with kidnapping, burglary/home invasion, strong-arm robbery, aggravated assault with a weapon and impersonating a law enforcement officer.
