A war story
- Benjamin Salomon, DDS. (We note that one of the pictured MOH recipients, Jack Lucas, died and is buried in Hattiesburg, MS.) His is another interesting story.
Administration
- ATF Reinterprets Rules to Allow Import of UTM, Simunition Training Rounds, Dual-Use Barrels.
- The Us DOGE Service has reportedly sent staff to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with the goal of revising or eliminating dozens of rules and gun restrictions by July 4.
Litigation
- The ban on commercial pistol sales to 18-to-20-year-olds will likely go unenforced in the Fifth Circuit (TX, MS and LA) after the US Department of Justice allowed a deadline to file an appeal with the Supreme Court in the case Reese v. ATF to pass. As a result, the unanimous January decision from the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals will stand. The panel held that a combination of federal statutes banning licensed firearm dealers from selling pistols to young adults violates the Second Amendment, which of course it does. In fact the whole idea of FFLs is unconstitutional.
- Grassroots report.

- Let’s Meet For Tacos. In case you need help with the Rules.
- About those witnesses…
- A Florida man (go figure) survived a gunshot to the chest after a cross on the necklace he was wearing deflected the bullet negligently fired by a friend about ten feet away. This is also known as “use enough gun,” which apparently is not a .40.
- Distance measurement in the field.
- “Throwing down” with the SAA. Interesting.
Industry News
- Buck Knives… …were a side hustle for founder Hoyt Buck while he was pastor of the Assembly of God Church in Mountain Home, Idaho.
- The Ma Deuce. Apparently it’s also the Energizer Bunny.
- Ruger has purchased the assets of Anderson Manufacturing, a manufacturer of AR-15 firearms and firearm accessories based in Hebron, Kentucky. The Anderson name will go away, and it appears that while they will discontinue the Anderson brand and the associated products Ruger will use the plant and its employees to expand their manufacturing base.
Obit
- Rabid gun-banning former nine-term US Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) has died at age 81. She was a Long Island LPN and housewife who was elected to Congress in 1996 on a single-issue gun control platform in a sympathy vote after her husband was killed and son wounded in a mass shooting in 1993 by an illegally armed psychopath on the “gun free” Long Island Rail Road commuter train leaving “gun free” New York City. She was unqualified in the beginning and remained so, and was perhaps best known for saying that a barrel shroud (which she proposed to ban) is “the shoulder thing that goes up.”

- Chiappa’s weird Rhino revolver lineup now has two versions chambered in 10mm Auto: a 6-inch barrel version with a matte black finish and a 3-inch version with a nickel finish.
