Litigation
- A unanimous three-judge panel of the US Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decided last week that California’s arbitrary “one‑gun‑per‑30‑days” purchase restriction is unconstitutional. We note that “arms” in the Second Amendment is plural. The case is Nguyen v. Bonta.
- In a major reversal for gun rights advocates, the US Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that the federal ban on handgun sales by licensed dealers to adults under 21 is constitutional. The ruling encompasses the combined cases of Fraser v. ATF, Brown v. ATF and Joshua McCoy v. ATF. Look for an appeal to the US Supreme Court.
- A US district judge has denied gun-ban activists’ repeated schemes to enact new gun control laws through litigation in Illinois.
- The Pennsylvania state Superior Court has ruled 2-1 that a state law requiring a permit to carry in the city was unconstitutional as applied to the defendant. It determined the law treated the rights of those inside Philadelphia differently from those outside the city. The Court decided it ultimately violated the federal and state constitutions.
- We have a report that the ATF and federal prosecutors are prepping to deceive Patrick “Tate” Adamiak’s appellate court just like they did his trial court. Apparently perjury is no longer a crime.

Legislation
- Louisiana’s recently enacted House Bill 407 repeals residency restrictions and expands access to the right to bear arms in the state. Now residents of any state will be able to acquire a Louisiana carry license and lawfully exercise their right to bear arms. This bill is the result of a Firearms Policy Coalition right-to-carry lawsuit, Mate v. Westcott, which targeted unconstitutional residency requirements in Louisiana.
- Firearms Policy Coalition and one of its members, Deacon Morris, have filed a new lawsuit, Morris v. Savannah, challenging a City of Savannah, Georgia firearm ordinance that is patently unlawful under the State’s comprehensive firearm preemption law. The last time I was in Savannah – long ago – it was a left-wing wanna-be-cultured town.

- Congressional Push to Sell Public Lands Threatens Hunting Access.
Enemies
- Just as we’ve seen the anti-gunners do, now we learn that there’s a push by the anti-hunters (a lot of the same people) to get large financial institutions join in their animal rights crusade by denying banking and financial services to animal agriculture businesses to “transform the future of food.” Usually when I see a new anti-hunting screed, I go out and shoot something in their honor.
- Iranian terrorist suspect arrested in central Mississippi. Stay locked and loaded.
- Fiction writer Stephen King is still writing fiction. About the assassination of a Minnesota state representative and her husband and the attempted assassination of a state senator and his wife, King posted on X that the killer “is clearly as nutty as a fruitcake. The real culprit is the gun he used.” I guess it takes one to know one.
DGUs
- Church shooting. First you run them over, then you shoot them down. Well done. Note that here in Mississippi, churches are by (unconstitutional) law “gun free” zones, with exceptions for law enforcement and enhanced permit holders. Probably better to be illegal than dead. David Codrea notes that not one “commonsense gun safety law” group would have preferred the congregants to be armed instead of being slaughtered like sheep, which would have given them gallons of fresh blood to dance in. I also have a question: Did the cops confiscate the church member’s truck like they do for defensively-used guns?
